Our Story

Built by a filmmaker,
for filmmakers.

Jon Licht

Founder · Composer · Filmmaker

My name is Jon Licht. I’m a composer, filmmaker at the beginning of my career, and software developer, and first and foremost a movie enthusiast. I’ve been obsessed with film since I was very young, and that love eventually pushed me to start making my own.

On my own filmmaking journey, I kept running into the same frustration: the places where independent films live online weren’t built with creators in mind. The revenue models were opaque. The communities were fragmented. And the people actually making the work rarely saw a fair return.

So I started building Screened, a platform where filmmakers can share their work, grow an audience, and instantly share in the revenue their films generate. Not eventually. Not after some payout threshold. Directly.

Screened is an independent film platform where every stream directly supports the creators behind the work. No subscriptions or forced content, just films directly from the people who made them.

What Screened Is About

Whether a viewer is watching your film with a short pre-roll ad, or pledging their support through credits or merch — every interaction on Screened sends revenue back to the creator. No middlemen taking massive cuts. No mystery algorithms deciding who gets paid.

Screened is a place where filmmakers can share, earn, and grow. And for viewers, it’s a way to discover incredible independent films while knowing that every stream actually supports the people who made them.

How We’re Different

Fair Revenue

Creators earn from every single view. No payout minimums, no hidden fees. Revenue is transparent and instant.

Direct Support

Viewers can pledge credits to skip ads — and 80% of that goes straight to the filmmaker. Real support, not just likes.

Community First

A message board, creator profiles, and a shared space for people who love film — not content, not clips. Film.
